The right brain, on the other hand, is used in emotional perception, intuition, and creativity. Creative undertaking such as making art helps to develop the right brain. Statistics show that when gifted kids solve problems in their areas of giftedness, there is increased electrical activity in both hemispheres. For the brain to function at its best, the two halves of the brain must work hand in hand. The arts strengthen the relation between the hemispheres by having sufficient stimulation and training of the right hemisphere. Children exposed to the arts have more developed cognitive skills.
